Konstantin Alekseevich Vasiliev
3 September 1942 - 29 October 1976
A Soviet painter and graphic artist who graduated from the Kazan Art School. His legacy includes more than two hundred works: portraits, landscapes, abstract compositions and paintings inspired by epic, mythological and military history.
The artist became widely known after his early death. His works and archive are now preserved by museums in Kazan and Vasilyevo, while The Man with an Owl remains one of his most recognisable paintings.
